Elena Lindeman, Deputy Director General, visited Dubna science town and took part in the talks devoted to the development of state-of-the-art methods of information support of innovative science fields, as well as to search for new partners, including scientific information providers and users.
Trilateral talks between Dubna University represented by Mikhail Khozyainov, Pro-Rector, RNPLS&T represented by Elena Lindeman, Deputy Director General, and Moscow State University Ecocenter represented by Mikhail Sinitzin, Deputy Director.
In the course of the talks all the parts came to the shared opinion on the necessity of cooperation to maintain information support of science and education, as well as to coordinate creation of information resources.
Then the participants of the talks visited Dubna special economic zone, where they met with Alexander Rats, Head of Dubna special economic zone management, to discuss the issues of information support to the special economic zone residents’ scientific projects in five scientific fields, with regard to the development of the special economic zone. They also discussed the possibility of extending the list of partners of the special economic zone by including the organisations of Dubna science town.
Subsequent to the results of the talks a cooperation agreement is arrangened to be signed.
Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology and Chemical Abstracts Service (USA), represented by Science Information International Ltd. (SIIL), conducted a workshop, devoted to the web-searcher SciFinder. Veli-Pekka Hyttinen (Finland), Regional Marketing Manager, Science Information International Ltd., spoke about content and functionality of the SciFinder information resource.
Library at School newspaper (issue 3, 2009) published Elena Ivanova’s article “Five Evenings on Winter’s Treshold”. The article is devoted to LIBCOM-2008 Twelfth International Conference and Exhibition “Information Technologies, Computer Systems and Publications for Libraries” (read the article in Russian).
