The program of continuing professional education: “Computer-aided technologies in the library and information systems”

 

On December 16—20, the training session within the program of continuing professional education: “Computer-aided technologies in the library and information systems” was held for the librarians of Moscow State S. Stroganov Academy of Design and Applied Arts at the Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology.

The training sessions were conducted by Alexander I. Brodovsky, Head of ALIS and Specialized Databases Design and Support, RNPLS&T, Lyudmila N. Ochagova, ALIS Design and Support Sector, RNPLS&T, and T. V. Yakovleva, technologist, ALIS and Databases Technological Support Sector, RNPLS&T.

The following subject scope was covered: collection acquisitions and control, including ordering, receipt, subscription and writing-off; building and maintenance of e-catalog; output production, including catalog cards; literature circulation and return. The goals of book sufficiency within the context of day-to-day methodologist’s data maintenance work, and within the context of obtaining book sufficiency coefficients in the viewing and output forms.
