Multi-authored monograph presented at RNPLS&T
On September 17, 2020, the presentation of the multi-authored monograph “Open access: The history, current status and way to open science” was held at the Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology. The book was published by Lan Publishers’ in 2019. The authors: Yakov L. Shrayberg, Ivan I. Zasursky, Andrey I. Zemskov, Natalia D. Trishchenko, Ilya I. Mikhailenko and Maxim Vakhrushev attended the presentation.
Yakov L. Shrayberg, RNPLS&T’s Academic Advisor, opened up over the contents and purpose of the book. Ivan I. Zasursky and N. D. Trishchenko commented on the importance of research in this area and on the open access status in Russia. They emphasized that open access was the future of science communication. Andrey I. Zemskov analyzed the prospects for this vector and suggested that the efforts should be made to mobilize more researchers into the open science.
Alexander S. Karaush, RNPLS&T Director General, congratulated the monograph authors and the audience on the publication and extended his gratitude to RNPLS&T team that had contributed to the publication. Lan Publishers’ spokesman also congratulated the authors and expressed his hope for further cooperation.

The monograph “Open access: The history, current status and way to open science” examines the issues of Open Access, Open Archives of sc-tech and socially important information and transfer to Open Science. The focus is also made on the current state of and prospects for the technologies supporting Open Access to information, knowledge and system of science communications. Library practical applications are discussed as the case study of Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology.
