The book «My friend Katya Genieva» by Ya. L. Shraiberg was published

04.08.2021 The book «My friend Katya Genieva» in three volumes by Yakov L. Shrayberg, RNPLS&T Academic Advisor, is published by «Pashkov House». The National Library Association «Libraries of the Future» and Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology facilitated prepublishing and publication.

The book is dedicated to the memory of Ekaterina Yuryevna Genieva, a librarian, philologist, and global public figure. The author describes the story of acquaintance, meetings, joint projects and many other things that were between Katya Genieva and him, in particular in the 1990ies when the Russian library community was forming. The narration is conveyed through the lens of connections with other people who were at that time his and Katya’s mutual friends and colleagues. The book comprises materials and photos from the archives of the author and E. Genieva’s immediate circle; many of the documents were not previously published.

The book «My friend Katya Genieva» has been nominated for The Book of the Year – 2021 National Contest in the «Humanitas» nomination.
