Exhibition "Vernadsky: a man, a scientist, a thinker"

The exhibition "Vernadsky: a man, a scientist, a thinker" has been open since February 28, 2023 in the lobby of the 2nd floor of the main building of the Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology. The exhibition is dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the outstanding Russian scientist, academician Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky, the creator of a new science - biogeochemistry, the teachings of the biosphere and the noosphere, the largest historian of science, a profound philosopher and thinker. Far ahead of his era, Vernadsky's innovative scientific ideas have acquired exceptional significance in the age of the atom, space flights and deep insight into the secrets of the universe.

 

Among the materials of the exhibition are the collected works of the scientist in 24 volumes, publications from the collection "Library of Works of Academician V.I. Vernadsky", his diary entries, journalistic articles, speeches. The exhibition also presents books by prominent scientists about the personality and scientific work of V. I. Vernadsky.

The materials of the exhibition are addressed to a wide range of readers interested in the fate and work of Academician V. I. Vernadsky and seeking to comprehend the scale of his unique personality.

During the preparation of the exhibition, materials from the fund of the Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology, the IPR SMART digital educational resource, and the scientific electronic library were used eLIBRARY.RU.
