The name of Yakov L. Shrayberg is widely known in the Russian library community and worldwide. This is owing to his productive professional activity, indomitable energy, enthusiasm and initiatives aimed to develop and promote innovations in library and information technologies.

Colleagues also link his name with diverse professional programs and the globally known today CRIMEA world professional forum and LIBCOM international conference.

Yakov Shrayberg is one of the organizers of the International Association of Users and Developers of Electronic Libraries and New Information Technologies (ELNIT). On his initiative, the Chair of Electronic Libraries, Information Technologies and Systems of Moscow State University of Culture and Arts (now the Chair of Culture Informatization and E-libraries of Moscow State Institute of Culture) was established.

Today, Professor Yakov Shrayberg, Dr. Sc., Academic Advisor of the Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology (till November, 2019, Director General of RNPLS&T). He was also among the initiators of the National Library Association “Libraries of the Future” (NALF).

Yakov Shrayberg is one of the leading experts in the library and information industry, a prominent researcher, pedagogue, and manager.
