Free-of-charge services
1. User registration and issuing user cards:
· in the Library’s main building
· in the Library’s consulting and educational divisions, Moscow
2. Access to the Internet, including via Wi-Fi connection within the Library main building.
Access to the workstations:
· for using desktop computers, including listening digital audiobooks;
· for using personal laptops including switching to the Library’s electrical network;
· for reading publications on micromedia;
· for unassisted scanning of paper materials.
3. Providing information on the Library collection through the catalog system and other awareness methods, including online references via the RNPLS&T’s www-site.
4. Lending documents with the option to reserve them for some period in the Library’s reading rooms:
· documents from the RNPLS&T’s collections
· documents from the collections of Moscow central libraries via ILL service.
Lending:
· individual lending from RNPLS&T’s collections for several user categories.
5. Reference and information services
5.1. Providing user awareness on every aspect of the Library’s activities:
· for individuals (personally or by phone);
· for groups (consultations, lectures, etc.);
· for wide public (information bulletins, leaflets, information boards)
5.2. Executing user queries:
· specifying bibliographic reference;
· address bibliographic inquiry;
· factographic inquiry.
Consulting:
· on using reference retrieval aid;
· on using digital resources.
6. User participation in planned cultural and education events held by the Library.
Online library services
1. Reservation of user cards with assigning a password for preliminary ordering.
2. Preliminary electronic order and reservation of items from the Library’s collections.
3. Access to bibliographic and fulltext resources in the open or online access.
4. Virtual reference services, including informing on the availability of documents in the Library’s collections.
5. Prolongation of reservation on the reservation shelf.
Corporate services
1. Informing on document availability in RNPLS&T’s or other libraries’ collections.
2. Consulting ILL and EDD subscribers on searching documents in the Library’s reference retrieval aid.
3. Providing references and consultations on lending and subscriptions to ILL and EDD services.
4. Lending documents from RNPLS&T’s collections via ILL.
5. Prolongation of due dates for items from the RNPLS&T's collection lent via ILL
