Lessons of the pandemic for the economy and society

   

 

The collision due to the pandemic with new political and ethical dilemmas, as a result of which humanity is now at a new crossroads of its development, has allowed us to take a fresh look at the crises taking place in the economy and society. The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed systemic problems in organizations working in a wide variety of fields. The world was faced with the urgent need to reconfigure key processes in conditions of increased uncertainty. But how to survive the crisis and become stronger?

In the publications presented at the exhibition, the authors share the results of scientific research on various aspects of the modern development of the economy, politics, law and society in the era of coronavirus, as well as set out recommendations for creating an effective system of planning and management in the socio-economic sphere, taking into account the lessons of the pandemic.

Abstract: The transition of universities to distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic sparked discussions about the development of the educational system in the context of digitalization of society. The question arose about the readiness of universities, students, and teachers to use digital educational tools. Studies of students' ideas about distance learning have revealed its difficulties, positive and negative effects. The analysis of the survey data made it possible to reveal the problems of the formation of basic competencies of students taking into account the requirements of the digital economy. In this article, based on the analysis of the results of the survey of humanities students, it is concluded that the difficulties of distance learning previously discovered during the second wave of the pandemic are preserved. The relevance of survival values for students (according to R. Inglehart, K. Welzel) is revealed. A decrease in the importance of self-expression values and a decrease in the sense of existential security can be considered a consequence of the pandemic crisis. The possibilities of digitalization of education to strengthen the resources of the subject and increase its mobility have come into conflict with the return of students to sedentariness with the introduction of distance learning to implement epidemic restrictions.
