Abstract: The article analyzes the improvement of men's and women's costumes adapted for cycling and driving in the XIX – beginning. Twentieth century. Based on a set of published sources, the preferences of fabrics, accessories, types of shoes for cycling are considered. The increase in speeds, especially on cars, required the invention of new types of overalls, coats, helmets integrated with canned glasses, transforming hats, new types of gloves, etc. Particular attention was paid to changes in women's costume, since cycling meant at first partially (for the young), and then by all, the rejection of dresses during trips, which forced them to reconsider their views on moral and ethical norms and agree with technical innovations that firmly fit into society. Thus, the period from the end of the XIX – beginning of the XX century became a time of serious reforms in fashion for men and especially for women, which testified to a significant new status of vehicle owners and, accordingly, a radical change in their image. The result of the study was the reconstruction of images of cyclists and motorists in Russia at the initial stage of the formation of these modes of transport.

A secondary technical result is an increase in usability by facilitating the movement of the upper attachment.

Abstract: An assessment of the reduction of emissions by road transport when transferring motorists to a bicycle in a large city is carried out as a result of the introduction of a developed bicycle transport network into the transport network of a large city. In this paper, the calculation is carried out for the city of Moscow. To carry out the calculation, an analysis of data obtained from surveys of the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (VTsIOM) on the frequency of bicycle use, the reasons for their non-use and repulsive factors was carried out. The target group of users of the bicycle transport network in the city of Moscow was identified, which, as a result of the analysis, was determined as 22% of all residents of the city of Moscow and in actual value is about 3.3 million people. In accordance with the methodological recommendations on the assessment of emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere from mobile sources (road and rail transport), a reduction in emissions of various pollutants, engine types and environmental class from motor transport was determined when transferring the target group of users from personal cars to bicycles, taking into account data on the actual number of personal cars in the city of Moscow. The total reduction of emissions amounted to 81.6746 thousand tons per year.
